Ethan Robbins' musical journey has taken him from classical music to bluegrass and all the way to rock and funk. He began studying the violin at the age of four, then 10 years later decided that he wanted to add the guitar to his repertoire. Ethan graduated from Oberlin College in 2009 with a double major in East Asian Studies and Creative Writing, concentrating in the Chinese language and poetry, respectively. While at Oberlin, Ethan began his exploration of folk and bluegrass music, refining his guitar and violin skill in these intricate styles. In college, he was a founding member of "The Outhouse Troubadours," an Oberlin Bluegrass Phenomenon. After graduating in 2009, Ethan decided to pursue music professionally. Since moving to Boston and teaching music at the Small World Child Care Center in Jamaica Plain, Ethan has been playing guitar and singing in a bluegrass funk band called "Ethan Robbins & Cold Chocolate," playing his own original material in bars and clubs in the Boston area.

Ethan is very friendly, outgoing, and organized. He has had a passion for teaching music ever since becoming a camp counselor in 2001 at the Levine School of Music summer camp in his home town of Washington DC--the same camp where he decided he wanted music to play a role in his life.
