Check out what people are saying about Kara!
Kara Kulpa is a Boston based singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. A native of Chicago, IL, she spent her childhood studying classical violin, which later earned her two performance scholarships to Illinois State University, where she earned a degree in Music Therapy.
During her residency in the windy city, Kara played in the Protégé Philharmonic and Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestras and Chamber Ensembles. She performed as part of a quartet for inner-city schools to raise awareness about the need to keep music education in low-budget curriculum and toured Europe with the exclusive Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp Symphony Orchestra. (She can still hear the string “bells” of Tchaikovsky’s 6th Symphony ringing through the cathedral halls in Bad Doberan, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany.)
During her violin-learning years, Kara also picked up the guitar and mandolin and dabbled on the piano. After college, she spent some time on the road, touring with various other singer/songwriters and honing her multi-instrumentalist chops. As well as performing her own material, Kara has recorded studio mandolin, violin and vocal tracks for independent artists around the country, including National Geographic!
Kara teaches beginning piano, guitar and mandolin lessons as well as all levels of violin lessons. She also teaches JamKIDS and JamBABY at several preschools and daycare centers in the Greater Boston Area and works as the Outsourcing Director for Jammin’ With You!
