Kyle LaLone grew up in Watertown, New York. He began taking guitar lessons at age 9 and at 12 he started his first band — Myth. Playing around central New York and Pennsylvania, Myth eventually earned an opportunity to open for national acts such as American Hi-Fi, Dream, and Will Ford. After graduating high school, Kyle moved to Boston to study at Berklee College of Music. While in school, Kyle studied blues, jazz, funk, reggae, R&B, and other styles of music he enjoyed.
Kyle has been an accompanying artist on many recording sessions and has played gigs in various settings and venues. Currently, he fronts his own rock band — Sugar Mama — while also playing guitar for New York-based R&B singer Erin Barra and Boston-based soul singer Merrily James. Without encouragement at such a young age, Kyle may have ventured down a different path, and he continues to instill the same inspiration he received onto his young students.
