Thomas Meunier is a Massachusetts-based songwriter, musician, and teacher, who discovered his passion for music the old-fashioned way - with open ears, a cheap guitar, and a great record collection. He learned how to play trumpet and some French horn as a kid, but really found his voice when he picked up a guitar at age twelve. With guidance from some inspiring teachers along the way, he pursued studies in Music and History at Boston College, graduating cum laude in 2009. Since then, he has performed everywhere from New York, Chicago, Philadelphia, to Florence, Italy – on concert stages and back porches alike - all the while maintaining an active schedule in the Boston-Metro-West area.
As a music director, freelance musician, and composer, Thomas has worked with rhythm & blues bands, jazz ensembles, vocalists, gospel choirs, and original groups in all styles from Americana to Zydeco. His current projects include works with the Cara Campanelli Goup (jazz, blues, country, r&b), The Sound of Growing Up (original rock-pop featured on TV’s Keeping up with the Kardashians), American Idol contestant Jason Shorter, and the Soul Sistah Mel Band. Thomas joins Jammin’ With You eager to share his experience and joy of music with new students. As an instructor, he has worked privately with students (ages 5-65) and served as music coach at Camp Burgess-Hayward of the South Shore YMCA. In addition to music education, Thomas has also gained invaluable experience teaching English as a Foreign Language abroad. His lessons emphasize creativity in practice, developing a musical vocabulary, discovery through play, and most importantly, jammin’.
