Zanna: Voice coach Piano Lessons Guitar lessons Zanna hails from southern California, where her parents (both of whom were teachers) first enrolled her in piano lessons after they noticed her running back and forth to play the commercials she would hear on TV. She had her first live vocal performance in a school talent show at age five, and not long after that she was recruited into the Pacific Chorale’s Childrens Chorus. She spent most of high school taking the leads in school musicals, and then studied Music Business at San Francisco State. She studied voice at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, but she then left the bay area for Boston and the Berklee College of Music, and started performing at local Boston and New York venues. Zanna sang live backup vocals for Gwen Leathers, on Erik DiNardo’s “Different Shade of Blue,” on tour for Gabrielle Louise including a performance on the TV Show “Backstage with Barry Nolan”, and for “Alley Blues,” which won the 2008 Boston Blues Challenge.

After graduating with a double diploma in Songwriting and Vocal Performace, Zanna started work as the Assistant Engineer and Production Manager at Rear Window Studios in Brookline; recent notable album credits include working with Yo-Yo Ma and Carlos Santana on Santana’s new album, “Guitar Heaven.” She is proficient in various styles, including jazz, country, pop, folk, blues, and rock. This wide range of experience comes in handy singing live with Four Piece Suit (soundtracks for Sex and the City, Dexter) and Woody Giessmann (of The Del Fuegos), adding vocals and songwriting to the albums of Dwight & Nicole (soundtracks for The Forgotten, The Cleaner), Miguel De Braganca, Auditorium, Berklee professor Dan Bowden, Spike Emerson, folk artist Gabrielle Louise, and additionally when employing her speaking voice as the “Voice of God” for Reebok and similar voice over work. Zanna is often composing and performing her own music, which can be found at http://www.zannamusic.com or on 88.5 KSBR or the LIVE 365 Channel “Women of Substance.” Zanna is also the lead singer for the world music-influenced band, Bangalore and a local jingle writer. She has been honored by the Billboard World Song Contest and asked to perform at Berklee’s Songwriter Night (video below), and can be seen regularly performing around local Boston venues.
