Nat Osborn is a New York City based singer, songwriter, composer, and multi-instrumentalist. He writes "smart, punchy tunes that blend old-school Gershwin-era song craft with decidedly modern sensibilities” (Popdose). Largely known as the leader of the international touring act Nat Osborn Band, he’s also a an accomplished solo performer and film/commercial composer.
Nat Osborn Band was signed to legendary Philadelphia based label Rope-A-Dope in 2015 and released a three song EP with the label that year. Nat, with the band, has performed on television in eight different countries and has played on average between 150 and 200 concerts per year for the past three years between the United States and Europe.
Films that Nat’s scored have appeared at the TriBeCa Film Festival, Cannes, and the Toronto Film Festival. Nat’s own style is, like New York, an eclectic mix of influences. One can expect to hear a unique blend of old school soul, inventive jazz inflected piano playing, and tinges of funk, blues, and classical music in his own music, though he often keeps it centered around smart, catchy pop songwriting.
As a teacher he aims to match learning technique and theory with improvisation and composition, keeping music fun and exciting while getting down the essential building blocks.
Nat graduated Skidmore college Cum Laude as a double major in History and Music, with a focus in music composition.
