1. I'm interested in taking in-home lessons - How long is each lesson?

Depending on the age and level of the student, we have lessons ranging from 30 minutes to 90 minutes.

2. How do we discuss scheduling a day, time and teacher for instruction?

Any staff in our office is happy to assist with this. We are experts at helping match students with the appropriate teachers and the necessary schedules.

3. Are lessons weekly? Do we have the option to do every other week?

Lessons take place on a weekly basis at a regularly scheduled time.  We understand that schedules can be hectic, but a consistent time and structure are necessary for optimal learning.

4. Can we do a trial lesson to make sure we like our teacher?

JWY! has nearly a 100% success rate in placing students with teachers.  Our teachers are the best! However, if you are not completely satisfied with your 1st lesson, we will give you the opportunity to try another teacher.

5. Do you have recitals?

We have something way cooler than recitals....SuperJams!!!!  Generally held twice a year (Winter and Spring), SuperJams allow students to show off in front of siblings, parents, grandparents, friends and the whole JWY! community. We encourage students to perform together, in groups, duos, trios, bands, with siblings, parents, their teachers, ect.  At a typical SuperJam, you will see a wide variety of instruments, ages, abilities and performances.

6. Do you do background checks on teachers?

Yes! All new teachers are interviewed and screened. We run a background check (federal and sexual offender) on all employees/contractors prior to employment.

7. What if we need to miss a lesson?

We have a 48 hr cancellation policy.  All cancellations must be called/emailed into your teacher or POC (initial Point of Contact when registering) 48 hours prior to the start time of your lesson. As teaching is the main source of income for many of our teachers, 48 hours gives them ample time to schedule another lesson in your time slot. Of course, we are understanding and realize that there are sometimes extreme circumstances.

8. How do we pay?

Pay in Advance - All in-home music lessons must be paid in advance. On the first of each month you will receive an invoice for all lessons to be attended during that month. If a lesson is missed, the client's account will be credited. If the duration of a lessons changes, the client's account will be credited (a lesson is usually 45 minutes, but occurred only for 30) or debited (a lesson is usually 30 minutes, but occurred for 45) accordingly. Before the school year begins, JWY! will send out a detailed calendar of projected lesson days for each month.

Credit Cards for Payment - All in-home music lessons must be paid by credit card. As the final step to registration, clients will be prompted to enter credit card information when paying the annual registration fee. No registration will be confirmed without the credit card information and registration fee.

9. Does JWY! accept credit cards?

Yes!  We accept all major credit cards, including Visa, MasterCard and American Express. Visit our Card Registration Page to sign up now!
