What’s his jam?: Blues, R&B, Soul, Jazz, Rock, Funk, Folk, Songwriting, Americana (“If it's got soul, I dig it.).
Ed-jam-ucation: Thomas started trumpet at age 9 but fell in love with guitar at 12. He studied under notable Boston-area musicians such as David Cirella, Eric Kniffin, and Mark Stunkel, and attended Boston College.
Jams of note: Thomas has recorded and/or toured with Po Boyz Organ Group (New Orleans), singer Billy Gilman, Big Spender Trio, Cara Campanelli, Josh & the Jamtones, KB Whirly, and The Sound of Growing Up, and works as a freelance musician all around the New England, including live shows at Belkin Family Lookout Farm. He also wrote and recorded his own album of original songs, Thomas Meunier - The R is Silent. In addition, Thomas has played guitar in several theater pit orchestras.
Thomas’s plan for the jam: With more than a decade of teaching to his credit, Thomas brings a welcoming and engaging mindset to lessons for all levels and experiences - from musical ABCs to coaching in preparation for the Massachusetts All State Jazz Band. He likes to expose students to new genres, characters, and music history, as well as encourage patience, creativity, and making music that connects with people. Thomas’s curriculum incorporates active listening, recording, and performance.
