We are recruiting instructors to teach private in-home lessons in the following areas:
BOSTON:
Greater Boston: Wellesley, Newton, Needham, Natick, Weston, Wayland, Allston, Brighton, Jamaica Plain, West Roxbury, Belmont, Lincoln, Lexington, Burlington, Reading, Wakefield, Lynnfield, & surrounding areas.
NEW YORK:
Brooklyn: Park Slope, South Slope, Prospect Heights, Cobble Hill, Fort Greene, Williamsburg
Qualifications
College Degree (preferably with a degree in music or education)
Advanced knowledge and ability on your instrument
Previous experience teaching music or working with children (1 year minimum)
Must have a valid driver's license and a registered vehicle
How does JWY work with instructors?
Staff members optimize your schedule and handle all stages of lesson booking.
Our flagship music programs, JamBABY and JamKIDS, serve as a feeder for private lessons, so there is always a steady influx of new lesson requests.
JWY pays you directly, and compensates for late cancellations and no-shows.
Our staff provides support with lesson planning, guidance with students and overall help navigating the world of in-home lessons.
You have access to a robust library of some of the most popular teaching books.
SuperJAMS: We offer student performance opportunities each Winter and Spring in JWY SuperJAMS. SuperJAMS are a fun and relaxed environment for students to show off all their hard work.
how does
booking work?
At JWY we work around your availability. You'll be asked to provide the days and locations you are available to teach - then sit back and let us do the rest! You can choose to open everyday for booking, or as little as one day a week. Private lessons typically occur between 1p.m. and 8 p.m. on weekdays and 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. on weekends.
Sample Schedule
3:30-4 p.m. - Student 1
(15 mins travel time)
4:15-5:15 p.m. - Student 2, 3 same location
(15 mins travel time)
5:30-6:15 p.m. - Student 4
