Private Lessons Instructor

Seeking professional, inspiring and motivated music teachers to join our team of In-Home Private Lessons Instructors. JWY currently provides over 500 weekly lessons to students on piano, guitar, drums, voice, strings and more!

All lessons occur in-home and teachers must be comfortable driving between students’ homes in the Metro West and Greater Boston Areas. A valid driver’s license and registered vehicle are required and travel time / mileage between lessons is compensated. JWY can offer up to 25+ hours of lessons per week.

Qualifications

College Degree (preferably in early education or music education / music therapy)
Proficiency on your instrument (piano, guitar, percussion, voice & strings preferred)
At least 1 year experience teaching private lessons
Must have a valid driver’s license and a registered vehicle
Must live in/near Greater Boston Area

Responsibilities

Prepare and lead back-to-back 30min – 90min private lessons for students of all ages
Participate in ongoing training and development
Perform all administrative tasks relevant to position

Music Enrichment Specialist

Seeking motivated, animated and charismatic musicians to join our team of Early Childhood Music Specialists. JWY currently provides music enrichment classes to over 60 daycares, preschools and community centers in the Greater Boston Area.

Our specialists are trained educators with a knack for engaging young toddlers and preschoolers. As a part of our team, you would have the unique opportunity to educate, entertain and influence children in the most important stages of development. JWY’s brand of edutainment enhances development across all areas of learning, including music. Most classes are taught during non-gigging hours, 9:00 am – 12:00 pm, and provide a fun and rewarding supplemental income for the proficient teacher/musician.

Qualifications

Previous experience teaching or caring for children ages 0 – 5
Must have a valid driver’s license and a registered vehicle
Must live in/near Greater Boston Area

How does JWY work for you?

At JWY we work around your availability. You’ll be asked to provide the days and locations you are available to teach – then sit back and let us do the rest! You can choose to open everyday for booking, or as little as one day a week. Private lessons typically occur between 1p.m. and 8 p.m. on weekdays and 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. on weekends.

Sample Schedule

3:30-4 p.m. – Student 1
(15 mins travel time)
4:15-5:15 p.m. – Student 2, 3 same location
(15 mins travel time)
5:30-6:15 p.m. – Student 4

Our staff provides support with lesson planning, guidance with students and overall help navigating the world of in-home lessons. All you have to do is show up!
