How long are
home lessons?

Depending on the age and level of the student, we offer lessons ranging from 30 to 90 minutes.

How do you select days/times and teachers?

All staff in our office are happy to assist with this. We are experts at helping match students with the appropriate teachers and the necessary schedules.

How frequent are
home lessons?

Lessons take place on a weekly basis at a regularly scheduled time.  We understand that schedules can be hectic, but a consistent time and structure are necessary for optimal learning.

Do you offer
trial lessons?

At JWY, we pride ourselves in our ability to effectively match students with teachers. However, if you are not completely satisfied with your first lesson, we will give you the opportunity to try another teacher. We welcome as much feedback as possible, since knowing what you don’t like about a teacher is a very important step towards finding the right fit.

Do you have
recitals?

We have something way cooler than recitals....SuperJAMS!!!!  Generally held twice a year (Winter and Spring), SuperJAMS allow students to show off in front of siblings, parents, grandparents, friends and the whole JWY community. We encourage students to perform together, in groups, duos, trios, bands, with siblings, parents, their teachers, etc.  At a typical SuperJAM, you will see a wide variety of instruments, ages, abilities and performances.

Do you perform background checks on teachers?

Yes! All new teachers are interviewed and screened. We run a background check (federal and sexual offender) on all employees/contractors prior to employment.

What if we miss
a lesson?

We have a 48-hour cancellation policy.  All cancellations must be made directly through your My Music Staff portal. As teaching is the main source of income for many of our instructors, 48 hours gives them ample time to schedule another lesson in your time slot. Of course, we are understanding and realize that there are sometimes extreme circumstances. Read more about our home lesson policies.

How do we pay?

  • All in-home music lessons must be paid in advance. During the first week of each month, you will receive an invoice for all lessons scheduled to occur that month. If you miss a lesson and canceled within 48 hours, your account will be credited the following month.

  • All in-home music lessons must be paid by credit card. Once your credit card is registered, you authorize Jammin With You to charge the card for all open invoices.

  • All payments are to be made directly to Jammin With You. Under no circumstances are payments to be given directly to instructors.

Do you accept
credit cards?

Yes! We accept all major credit cards, including Visa, Discover and MasterCard.
