Private Lessons Policies


 

Billing &
Payment

  • All private music lessons must be paid in advance. During the first week of each month you will receive an invoice for all lessons scheduled.

  • All private music lessons must be paid by credit card. Once your credit card is registered, you authorize Jammin With You to charge the card for all open invoices.

  • All payments are to be made directly to Jammin With You. Under no circumstances are payments to be given directly to instructors.


Cancellation

In order to support our teachers and their dedication to our students, family cancellations will not be credited, but converted to make-up lessons. We want to continue to attract and retain the highest-quality teachers. To do so, protecting, maximizing and consistently compensating them for their time is essential. Furthermore, we believe a consistent weekly lesson is essential to a student's progress on their instrument. 

Jammin with You will automatically cancel lessons on the following dates: 

(based on the Wellesley Public School Calendar)

September 2, 3, & 4, 2023 - Labor Day Weekend

September 16, 2023 -  Rosh Hashanah

September 25,2023 - Yom Kippur

October 9, 2023 - Indigenous Peoples’ Day

October 31, 2023 - Halloween (All Group Classes Still On)

November 10, 2023 - Veteran’s Day

November 22, 23, 24, 25 & 26 2023 - Thanksgiving Break (All Group Classes Still On 11/22)

December 23, 2023 - January 1, 2024 - Winter Break

January 13, 14, & 25, 2024 - MLK Weekend

February 19 - 25, 2024 - February Vacation

March 29, 2024 - Good Friday

March 31, 2024 - Easter

April 15 - 21, 2024 -  April Vacation

May 25, 26 & 27, 2024 - Memorial Day Weekend

June 19, 2024 - Juneteenth

If you want a lesson on those dates, please let us know and we will accommodate.

General cancellations by a family will transfer to a make-up lesson. When you cancel your lesson, your teacher will give you two reasonable make-up opportunities within 14 days of your cancellation. Examples of these opportunities include moving to a virtual lesson, adding 15 minutes to future lessons, or an entirely new day and time. If you are unable to attend those make-up opportunities, you will be charged for the missed lesson.

Cancellations made on the same day as the lesson

will not be refunded or made-up.

In the event of illness, families who cancel on the same day will have the option to schedule two makeup appointments within a 14-day period.

For inclement weather and school cancelations, the lesson will be held at the discretion of the teacher or converted to a virtual lesson. If a virtual lesson does not occur, you will be refunded.

If a family member in your home has COVID-19, your lesson will automatically convert to a virtual lesson for the safety and well being of our teacher and their student population. Lessons that do not occur virtually will NOT be refunded.

Any lesson canceled by the teacher will be refunded.

If you would like to discontinue lessons entirely, we require two weeks notice in writing/email directly to the office.


Supervision

  • A parent, caregiver or legal guardian over the age of 18 must be on site for the duration of every in-home lesson. Your instructor will not begin a lesson if there is no parent, caregiver or guardian at home during the time of the lesson. No refund or credit will be granted.

  • Lessons held virtually do not require an adult on site.


Registration

  • A $40 non-refundable annual registration fee will be charged at time of enrollment.

  • To secure and finalize your Fall registration, a $100 deposit is necessary. These funds will be applied to the first month’s invoice.


  • Jammin With You has permission to use photographs and videos of you and your child(ren) to publicly promote Jammin With You.

  • You agree that these videos/images may be used in print publications, online publications, presentations, websites, and social media. You also understand that no royalty, fee, or other compensation shall become payable to you by reason of such use.

  • Photography and/or videography may be obtained during a lesson, a class, a SuperJAM, or other Jammin With You involved event.

  • To opt out of this release, please send an email to Shana Gondelman.

Non-Solicitation

  • You agree to not directly or indirectly solicit your instructor for lessons or any additional work, whether it be in the same services currently provided, or for another opportunity (i.e. birthday party, graduation, special event, etc). Inquires of this nature should be addressed directly with Jammin With You, and you acknowledge that such action constitutes a breach of this agreement. Your instructor is prevented from conducting lessons and/or other services for you independently of Jammin With You.


Liability

  • You release Jammin With You, our instructors, officers, directors, any parent, subsidiary, or other affiliated entities and its instructors, from any and all liability and responsibility in any case of personal injury, property damage or loss, injury, accident, or misconduct. In no event shall we be liable to you for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, which are hereby excluded by agreement of the parties regardless of whether such damages were foreseeable or whether either of us has been advised of the possibility of such damages.


Communication

 
  • By registering for class and lessons, you agree to receive email and text notifications pertaining to cancelations, weather changes (if applicable), and other relevant information.
