Ed-jam-ucation: Austin started his musical journey in middle school where he played saxophone in the symphonic and jazz bands. In High School he joined the classical guitar ensemble where he started studying classical guitar and had the opportunity to play in a flamenco ensemble! During this time, Austin’s interest in how and why music 'worked,' prompted him to learn more about music theory and he decided to attend the University of North Texas. While at North Texas, he worked with many excellent musicians and ensembles and had several of his own compositions performed by these groups. He was the recipient of the UNT Music Business Entrepreneurship award that allowed him to create a non-profit organization for collaborative arts. Since graduating Austin has continued to hone his compositional craft and regularly writes and records new music.
