Drum Lessons That Drive the Beat

Drumming Up Confidence and Creativity

At Jammin With You, drum lessons are all about discovering the heartbeat of music. Drums aren’t just background to a song, they’re what make it move, connect, and come alive. Whether your child wants to rock out, groove to funk, or hold down a steady beat for a band, we give them the tools to own their rhythm.

Our drum lessons aren’t about endless rudiments on a practice pad. Sure, we’ll teach the fundamentals, but we also make sure every student gets to play music that excites them. From classic rock to movie themes to modern hits, we keep the learning real, relevant, and fun.

TESTIMONIALS

“My two kids (7 year old drummer and and 5 year old pianist) LOVE taking lessons at JWY. They adore their teachers, and can’t wait for the next lesson!”

— Julie G.

“Wow! What an amazing place for music lessons! Our son (4 years old) has been learning drums virtually, and it’s been an awesome experience. His teacher is kind, patient, and fun, and the virtual recital (superJAMS) that we just participated in was well organized and so much fun! We will definitely be continuing with our lessons and maybe even adding additional instruments in the future.”

— Kaitlin S.

“Jammin With You is the best! My daughter started out in the toddler classes and birthday parties, then did Stage Jam, and now she is taking private drum lessons and is in a band with Jammin With You. The teachers are AMAZING, and it’s been so fun to watch my daughter grow musically over the last decade.”

— Karen G.

Beyond the Beat, We’re Shaping Confident Performers

At JWY, drum lessons are more than stick control and practice drills. We’re here to give students the tools to listen, adapt, and lead through rhythm. But more than that, it becomes an avenue to where they build focus, release energy in a positive way, and discover their own sense of style. With encouragement from our teachers and the buzz of our performance community, every drummer learns to step into the spotlight with confidence.

Our Teachers:

More Than Musicians

Jammin With You drum teachers understand how to motivate students, break down tricky concepts, and keep lessons engaging. They know when to push, when to encourage, and when to just let students play and have fun.

Frequently Asked Questions About Our Piano Lessons

Do students need their own drum kit to start lessons?

Not right away. Beginners can start with a simple practice pad and sticks. As they progress, we’ll guide you on the right kit—whether acoustic or electronic—that fits your space and budget.

What ages are drum lessons best for?

We teach students as young as 6 years old through adults of all ages. Our teachers adjust lessons based on age, ability, and goals.

Will my child learn to read music, or just play by ear?

Both. Our curriculum covers rhythm reading and notation, but we also teach students to play along with songs they love, improvise, and develop listening skills.

How much practice is recommended outside of lessons?

For beginners, 10–15 minutes a day is a great start. As students advance, consistent practice (20–30 minutes a day) helps build technique and confidence faster.

Can drum lessons be taken online?

Yes! Our virtual lessons provide real-time feedback, clear guidance, and the same structured curriculum as in-person sessions. All you need is a practice space, internet connection, and a set of sticks or a drum kit.

Will my child get performance opportunities?

Absolutely. Students can participate in our high-energy SuperJAM showcases. Our activities help build confidence and learn what it feels like to perform as part of a band.
