Private Piano Instructor
In-Home Piano Teacher | Greater Boston Area
Seeking professional, inspiring and motivated piano teachers to join our team of In-Home Private Lessons Instructors.
JWY currently provides over 500 weekly lessons to students across piano, guitar, drums, voice, strings and more. Piano is one of our most requested instruments, and we are actively hiring new teachers to serve in the Greater Boston area and Metro West Boston.
All piano lessons occur in-home, and teachers must be comfortable driving between students’ homes. A valid driver’s license and registered vehicle are required, and travel time and mileage between lessons are compensated. JWY can offer up to 25+ hours of piano lessons per week based on your availability.
Qualifications
- College Degree (preferably in early education, music education, music performance or music therapy)
- Strong proficiency in piano
- Ability to teach beginner through advanced
- At least 1 year experience teaching private piano lessons
- Must have a valid driver’s license and a registered vehicle
- Must live in/near Greater Boston Area
Responsibilities
- Prepare and lead back-to-back 30min – 90min private piano lessons for students of all ages
- Teach technique, music reading, rhythm, theory and repertoire appropriate to each student
- Participate in ongoing training and development
- Perform all administrative tasks relevant to position
- Attend superJAM (recitals) in February and June.

Job Type: Part-time
Expected hours: As little or as many as you want. We offer a highly flexible schedule where you choose the days and hours you want to teach, and we work to fill your availability with students. Most lessons typically take place between 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

How does JWY work for you?
At JWY we work around your availability. You’ll be asked to provide the days and times you are available to teach – then sit back and let us do the rest! You can choose to open everyday for booking, or as little as one day a week. Private lessons typically occur between 1p.m. and 8 p.m. on weekdays and 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. on weekends.

3:30-4 p.m. – Piano Student 1
(15 mins travel time)
4:15-5:15 p.m. – Piano Students 2 and 3 (same location)
(15 mins travel time)
5:30-6:15 p.m. – Piano Student 4
