Ed-jam-ucation: Jonah holds a degree in music composition from Bennington College, though his music education really began with piano lessons at age 8. Jonah has been teaching private lessons for over 5 years and also works as a composer. Of note, he composed the musical score to the Calvin Theatre’s 2013 production of The Tempest.

How Jonah jams with you: Jonah believes that, above all, learning music should be fun! He remembers how intimidating learning an instrument can be and believes that, while building skills is an important element, creating a positive association with learning music is equally important. In his own words, Jonah states, “In my teaching, I always impart technique, theory, and performance skills while making the music accessible and exciting. This is most often by pairing the technical skillset with a song or piece of music the student is particularly excited about, be it a Beatles or One Direction song.”
